    19% acrylic / 10% mohair
hand wash/dry flat
chunky weight, 15-6st/4" on
    US size 10 to 10-1/2

sample color: midnight

A rustic-looking four ply yarn. In this midnight color, two plies are gray blue, one is dark blue, and the fourth is shiny viscose wrapping the other three together. The yarn is fuzzy with mohair. I must say that this yarn looks much, much better to me knit up than in the skein. I had no problem with splitting. Definitely destined for outerwear at this gauge and furiness (in my opinion) and relatively soft, not scratchy.

Swatch: Longtail cast on, 20 st.
k,p repeat, two rows, then stockinette:

With size 9 needles:

5"(W) x 3-1/8"(H)
10.5rows/2" --> 21rows/4"

Soaked in cold water and a little dish soap; no dye run. Rolled in a towel and then patted out to dry. No pins were used during drying.

According to my monitor, my two swatch photos are in the ballpark for overall color, but I lost the "obvious in person" highlights on the viscose wrapping ply. The color of that ply is closer to the little square block on this photo and the dime shot above.

I landed right on gauge. Although not obvious in this photo, this swatch is covered in fine hair. I think the evenly scattered shiny bits keep this yarn from looking blah. Stitch definition is minimal. The swatch has some thickness and body but is still soft enough for a little drape.

I am glad to see those sample garments, because I seem to have no other vision for this yarn than some big, hairy sweater. I have a little trouble squaring the look of my swatch with the pink sample garment; I kind of wish I could see that one in person.
